This project is part of my work as a UX Designer at Jungle Minds. I was responsible within this project for: Concept Development, UX Design and User Testing

Introducing the project: the BMS logo and some elements from the design.

Straumann Group holds different dental professional brands such as Straumann, Medentika and Neodent that produce products such as implants or prosthetics. Next to selling their products they are very much involved in sharing knowledge amongst dental professionals. One of the ways they provide this is via their SKILL platform.

One of the pages that shows how the input is asked.

SKILL is Straumann’s platform for finding all different kinds of courses, seminars, webinars and more. The platform worked pretty well so far in registering for courses but getting inspired for new courses was underexposed. This is where Jungle Minds came in.

Different variations of asking input.

We were asked to find out what the next steps for the platform could be and of course visualize them. By organizing multiple workshops we defined the high-level journey and main pain points for SKILL users. Based on this we did ideation sessions with the team based on some of those pan points.

The output in a product page.

This led to a concept where exploration was a central theme. We wanted to find out what is important for customers in finding courses. We were interested to learn about their criteria on choosing a course. So we made a prototype based on this concept and tested this with some customers. The main insight we got from this was that they are definitely interested in being presented with more ways of exploring and finding courses. It depends however on the type of customer, a dentist has a different approach to learning from a practice owner. Another main takeaway was that they really start from a subject they want to learn on and thén look at the form, brand etc.

We gathered all these insights and presented them together with an expert review we did of their current platform so we would have a complete package. At the end we added some conceptual designs for what the next steps could look like based on some of the things we’ve learned. A large portion of the insights have been implemented since and some are still in development as of now but it’s really nice to see how this effort actually made an impact on the experience of the product.
