During my time at Jungle Minds I've given different lectures on accessibility, ux copy and heuristics for the sister company Jungle Guilds.

During my final year at CMD, I've worked as a UX designer intern at Jungle Minds. Jungle Minds is all about business impact by making. I've learned a lot from working toghether with different disciplines such as research, development and visual design.

UX design at Favoroute, Amsterdam

2017 - 2018

Favoroute was a startup company that focussed on travel content. The company worked together with hundreds of local writers all over the world to create local travel content. I mainly worked on creating wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes. A period where I learned what the startup life looks like. The company unfortunately does not exist anymore.

Interaction design internship at Olisto, Amsterdam

2017

During the second year of CMD, I worked as an Interaction designer intern at the company Olisto. They changed their name in the meantime, when I did my internship there it was called Triggi. Olisto is a platform where the user can automate their digital life. Services like Google Calendar and devices like the Philips Hue can work together on this platform. I worked on a new concept during this internship period. I mainly worked on designing wireframes and prototypes. This concept was also tested in a user test. This period mainly taught me what a design process looks like in practice.

UX Design and Photography for Troop Design

2016 - 2018

During our first year at CMD me and some classmates started Troop Design. We saw an opportunity to help out local business owners with their websites, so we started a company to do exactly that. We had gathered different expertises such as devlopment, design and business. My roles were (UX) designer and photographer. It was very cool to be able to have both roles within a project and design the pages with my own photography. I've learned a lot from these projects like presenenting my design work to clients and handing over work to development. I'm not involved anymore but I'm proud of the fact that the idea we had back then actually grew into a succesfull company that still holds true to the original mission.

The course 'Communication and Multimedia Design' focusses on designing interactive, digital products with the user at the center. We learned different research methods to get to an understanding of the target audience. The design process we learned included creating job stories, storyboards, wireflows and customer journeys (and much more). We also learned to build these concepts in either prototype tools or used (fairly simple) frontend development. In my third year I did a minor User Experience Design with the final project of the minor being Deliverbee. My graduation project was done in collaboration with Jumbo Supermarkten. During my time at HvA, I also gave some classes on the Adobe programs to students from other courses.

2013 - 2015

Goldfished is an online platform/magazine about youth culture in Tilburg. Or something like that, they've grown into different thing in the meantime. They liked my style of photography so they asked me to make some photos during different events they organised or that we went to as a group.

This year taught me not to hold on too much to my first idea. This course is about developing your own style as an illustrator. As much sketching and experimenting as possible has been the motto for this period.

Design internship at Gonzales, Antwerp

2012 - 2013

This internship was part of the course Art & Design at the Koning Willem 1 College. Gonzales is a creative design agency in Antwerp. They work on projects that embody a lot of disciplines. They design and build websites, shoot different kinds of video's and do a lot of photography. In this period I have learned something within all of these disciplines. The company changed its name but not sure what it's called now.
